FMT Celebrates Bruce Smith’s Next Chapter After a Decade of Outstanding Contributions

FMT has announced that Bruce Smith, FMT Strategic Partnership Manager, is transitioning from his role after nearly ten remarkable years of service. While he’s considering the path of retirement, we want to celebrate the incredible impact he’s had on our business.

Recognising Bruce’s impact

Since joining FMT, Bruce has played a central role in expanding our presence across the financial services sector. By forging enduring partnerships with mortgage advisers and aggregators and strengthening key industry networks, he has been directly responsible for opening doors to new markets and accelerating growth for FMT over the last 10 years.

Bruce’s ability to cultivate trust and rapport with advisers has not only increased the volume of business but also positioned FMT as a trusted specialist lender. His efforts have helped diversify and strengthen our portfolio, expand our loan book, and build sustainable pipelines that continue to deliver value today.

When Bruce joined the business in 2016, the loan book was $350 million. Today, it sits at $1.6 billion, and Bruce has played a key role in achieving that growth.

Beyond numbers, Bruce has elevated the way we engage with our partners; championing collaboration, identifying opportunities with the evolving needs of clients. The goodwill and reputation he has helped build for FMT within the adviser community will continue to serve as a foundation for growth in the years ahead.

Our CEO, Paul Bendall says, “Bruce has made a real difference here at FMT. His dedication and charisma will leave a lasting legacy. He’s helped us grow, strengthened our partnerships, and expanded our reach in ways that will benefit the company long into the future. We’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done. The team and I will miss him, but we wish him all the best and hope he enjoys more time with the family.”

Leaving a legacy

As Bruce steps into this new chapter, whether it’s retirement or new adventures on the horizon, we want to send him off with our sincere appreciation. His warmth, positivity, and boundless energy have made him a true legend at FMT.

“We wish Bruce every success and happiness for the future and thank him for the incredible legacy he leaves behind.” Paul adds.
